Environmental Monitoring in Microclimates

By April 22, 2008November 4th, 2015Research

I have posted a paper entitled “On the Use of Data Loggers in Picture Frames (And Other) Micro Climates” in the documents section of the AaI&A website (click here to download AaI_20080421_TA-01.pdf). This paper is a brief discussion on the use of data loggers in the AaI&A Digital Print Research Program, and it offers some basic guidance on how the interpretation of data collected in micro climate environments differs from the interpretation of data collected in macro climates where air circulation is usually more plentiful. The paper was prepared for the Archives Conservation Discussion Group session held at the 36th Annual Meeting of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works in Denver, Colorado on April 21-24, 2008.

The Archives Discussion Group session meets this Thursday, April 24, 2008 and the session is entitled “Sharing Information about Environmental Monitoring.” As the title indicates, the session is an exchange of information between conservators and other preservation specialists that use environmental data loggers in museums, libraries, and archives.
